OPTISHIP delivers a TRL9 product to the shipping market via a Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA), and a state-of-science Operational Decision Support Tool (Interlinked models and algorithms) for economic and environmental optimization of maritime structures and ships. The LCA for Shipping considers all Three- Phases of the life-cycle of a ship (1) design/construction (phase-I), (2) operation/maintenance (phase-II), and (3) end-of-life/scrap (phase-III). The LCA can be used for the optimal design of the ship, its optimal operation, and can deliver decisions for “what to do” in multiple cases (e.g., scarp or no-scrap). Clients are shipyards, shipping companies, brokers, banks, insurance companies, engineering houses and others. Clients of the Platform can be the shipyards, shipping companies, brokers, banks, insurance companies, engineering houses and others. The product (web-platform) is to be certified and patented by the Consortium that works together for years and will commercialized the platform via an EEIG, whilst funding is sought, to pursue world-wide business. Technologically, the product develops algorithms, a DSS, based on optimization technologies, whist the platform features applications, validations, and certification.
